Who is Elroy?

This is the story of that name:

For those of you who may be familiar with the Hanna-Barbera cartoon from the early '70s, "The Jetsons", you may remember the theme song at the beginning of the show:

"Meet George Jetson, his boy Elroy..."

(Shout-out to William Hanna, Joseph Barbera, and Hoyt Curtin, the composers of the theme song)

When my dad would refer to me as his "newborn son", it would always be an aside to this cartoon's theme song and the mention of the protagonist's (George Jetson) son, "his boy Elroy".

He would tell his fellow co-workers, "my boy Elroy" whenever anyone asked about his new baby. For years, this nickname persisted, into my teens. Whenever I would be around any of my father's co-workers. I was always, "My Boy Elroy" to them, from my father only referring to me this way.

When I started my company, ELROY MUSIC INC, in 2007,  it was an homage to my father who had passed the previous year. I would always think of him whenever I would think of the name, ELROY. As a social media handle, it seemed appropriate to use this moniker as well, as it is more encompassing of my life as an artist, hence:

ALL THINGS ELROY!
